Ways to support OSL
Description of this module
Songs are being practiced and parts are being assigned, but it is not too late for any child of Our Savior to join us to proclaim the news of Jesus's birth. Children ages two through our confirmation classes are welcome to participate. Please let Holly Spraul know if you would like to be involved.
Our program practices will be as follows. We ask that you strive to attend a minimum of 2 of the 3 practices. Thank you. Practices will take place in the sanctuary.
Dec 3 and 10 12:30-1:45 all students, early childhood-8th. Our 2-3 year old students may leave with a parent when their part is finished.
December 17 9:15-10:15, all children meet in the sanctuary
All students of our Savior are invited to bring their school backpack with them to services this Sunday. Those with backpacks will receive a special blessing during the church service and a small gift for their backpack. Everyone is invited to participate- pre-school through college and no matter what school you attend!
We will also be hosting a school supply collection drive for needy area children. If you are willing to donate a basic school supply item- such as pencils, crayons, markers, colored pencils, glue, glue sticks, notebook paper, folders, notebooks ,scissors etc. They will be collected in the narthex or during the Sunday School hour. Thank you!
During the Sunday School hour there will be special back to school activities and an ice cream social for all children of Our Savior, ages pre school through 6th grade. Come and join us and see old friends or make new ones! Come and hear what your friend Jesus has to say!
OUR SAVIOR MEN'S RETREAT will be held in Loeber Hall Conference Room at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, March 18, 2017 from 9 am to 3 PM. Dr. Kent Burreson, professor at Concordia Seminary will make a power point presentation covering the "Origin, Teachings, and Practices of Non-Lutheran Protestant Bodies in the U.S." All men young and old and in between are invited and do invite friends and relatives from other churches to come with you. Cost is $10 for lunch and snacks during break times. A sign up sheet is in the narthex of the church. Give your money to Conrad Snyder or Bob Lange at least a week before the event. Lutherans know that the origin of our church is rooted in the Reformation of 1517, the 500th anniversary of which we are celebrating this year. But how did the other Protestant churches originate?
Thank you for being a part of the Thrivent Choice Program. The deadline is approaching for our members to make their 2016 Choice Dollar designations. Continue reading for important
information on how to capitalize on this funding.
The Thrivent Choice program is an easy way for eligible Thrivent members to recommend how Thrivent Financial should distribute a portion of its charitable outreach funds to organizations our members are passionate about through a vehicle called Choice Dollars®.
Why are you receiving this email?
Your organization has been recommended by one of our Thrivent members, and approved by Thrivent Financial as an organization eligible to receive these charitable dollars. Elligable Thrivent members
can choose your organization from the Choice Dollar List and designate their dollars to you.
Our members have until
MARCH 31st, 2017 to designate the Choice Dollars that they received in 2016. Our elligable members have a minimum of $25 and a maximum of $5,000 available to designate.
Our financial advisors have started contacting members who still have 2016 Choice Dollars and reminding them to designate, so now is a great time for your organizations to promote that you are on the Choice Dollar list. This could potentially help your organization
to receive designations from our members
